INTRODUCTION

Herewith, there comes something that makes a difference. We present to the reader a collection of some hundred front covers from publications on medical issues. Those are from the state publishing houses "Medizina i Fizkultura" and "Narodna Mladez", which, were dissolved after 1990 into a number of separate corporate publishers. The books themselves represent the state of medical knowledge in the 70s and 80s, given on a popular agenda. We are not supposed to give a digest of those books, which, does not mean that they lack some scholarly merit. So, the pictures are just meant for what they are.

Thanks, to the people from the municipality stock house in Sofia! They helped us find some of the booklets, issued in low numbers, which were even difficult to obtain in the medical library.
